Abstract [top]
This paper discusses the possibilites of training the
ESP awareness using the computer.
It shows a possible implementation of such a training programm.
Introduction [top]
ESP (Extra Sensorial Perception) is the scientific way of evading the
word telepathy.
(actually I am exaggerating in order to make a point here;
which is called miserable rhetoric)
If telepathy between living beings (e.g. two humans) is possible,
maybe it is also possible between a human and a computer.
Would it for example be possible to guess a color the computer had already chosen?
Writing a little program that chooses a color, lets then select the user one color and gives some feedback about the correctness of the user selection is fairly easy.
Usage [top]
Click on one of the colored wedges, trying to guess the one
the computer has already randomly decided.
You will then see the color you clicked and the one the computer had chosen.
The applet keeps track of the average distance between the two.
Try to improve your ESP awareness by outguessing the computer.

Conclusion [top]
Sofar the author has not yet seen any improvement in his ESP awareness.
But the applet came out so beautyful he wanted to share it with other people.

This program was written after a discussion with
Bernhard Mohr where he suggested writing this program.
The implementation as a Java applet and the use of color to give
the user a better association with the randomly selected direction
